K2061/2088 Factory Sounds for PC4 SE

The K20 sounds with all the objects they need, for the PC4 SE, in one complete file: 582 programs and 535 multis that are not included in the PC4 SE. The ZIP holds the file, the program list as a PDF and the same list as an Excel overview.

All sounds are grouped into categories, so you can pick just the ones you need.

The program list shows every program with its category and subcategory, where it comes from - the original K2000 program, where there is one - and the ID it carries on the K2061 and the K2700.

The new German D pianos of the K20 are relinked to the Artis German D of the PC4 SE, so they work but sound different. Programs with "PC4" in their names are relinked to these keymaps.

Make a backup before you start the import.

Important: this file is for the PC4 SE only. Other keyboards need different objects, and their multis have to be relinked differently.

  2. The words K2061/88 Factory Sounds for PC4 over a photo of the control panel of a Kurzweil keyboard with its display and sliders.

    K2061/2088 Factory Sounds for PC4

Please read first: this ZIP holds the K20 sounds in three versions. Do NOT import all of the files. Look at the program list or the Excel overview first, and make a backup before you start the import.

Compared to the PC4, the K2061/2088 has almost all the sounds of the K2700 and many new ones on top: 932 new programs and 537 new multis. I strongly advise against importing them all, unless you are sure there is enough free storage on your PC4 and you know how to delete the objects you do not need.

The ZIP contains three folders - three alternative ways to load the sounds:

    1) K20 Selection - my recommendation. All new K20 multis with their programs, plus selected synth polys and leads: 95 multis and 361 programs. The programs included are marked in the Excel overview.

    2) Program categories - 17 files holding all 932 K20 programs, sorted by category. Well suited for trying sounds step by step and adding the ones you like to the Selection. If you do not need multis, or a certain category such as drums, load only the files you want.

    3) Complete categorized - everything the PC4 does not have: 932 programs and 537 multis in one file, over 2000 objects. Use it only if you know exactly what you are doing.

All sounds are grouped into categories, and missing subcategories have been added. Every program has a demo song - give it a listen. The new German D pianos of the K20 are relinked to the German D of the PC4 (Artis), so they work but sound different; programs with "PC4" in their names use those keymaps.

Important: these files are for the PC4 only. Other keyboards need different objects, and their multis have to be relinked differently. A K2700 version is available as a separate entry on this page.

    K2061/2088 Factory Sounds for K2700

The K20 sounds with all the objects they need, for the K2700: all 551 programs and 95 multis that are not included in the K2700.

All sounds are grouped into categories, so you can pick just the ones you need. Missing subcategories have been added.

The program list shows every program with its category and subcategory, where it comes from - the original K2000 program, where there is one.

  4. The words K2061/88 Factory Sounds for Forte over a photo of the control panel of a Kurzweil keyboard with its display and sliders.

Selected K2061/2088 Factory Sounds for Forte

My selection of K2061/2088 sounds, converted for the Kurzweil Forte: 92 of the new K20 multis together with everything they depend on, supplemented by selected synth sounds - 275 programs in all.

The program list shows every program with its category and subcategory, where it comes from - the original K2000 program, where there is one - and the ID it carries on the K2061, the PC4 and the K2700.

Important: this file is for the Forte only. Other keyboards, the Forte SE included, need different objects, and their multis have to be relinked differently.

  5. The words PC3A Factory Sounds for K2061/2088 over a photo of the PC3's sliders.

    PC3A Factory Sounds for K2061/2088

The PC3A carries the sounds of the whole PC3 family - PC3, PC3K and PC3A - including the KORE 64 expansion and the German D piano from the Artis. These files hold all of its factory programs that are not available on the K2061/2088, without the demo sounds. Each category comes in a file of its own, and the categories have been adapted to the ones the K2061/2088 uses.

The K2061/2088 has no Artis pianos. The piano programs that use them on the PC3A therefore play the new German D keymaps and samples of the K2061/2088 instead - they do not sound identical, so the relinked pianos have "K20" in their names.

Every program keeps its factory ID from the PC3A, so a sound you know from there is quickly found under the same number. The files hold only the objects that are really needed: the programs and a few FX chains. The program list shows each sound with its ID, category, subcategory and info text.

Important: do not load all 770 programs. Go through the program list first, pick the sounds you really need, and load only those - with dependent objects, so that everything they rely on comes along.

  6. The words PC3A Factory Sounds for PC4 and K2700 over a photo of the PC3's sliders.

    PC3A Factory Sounds for PC4 and K2700

The PC3A carries the sounds of the whole PC3 family - PC3, PC3K and PC3A - including the KORE 64 expansion and the German D piano from the Artis. These files hold all of its factory programs that are not available on the PC4 and K2700, without the demo sounds. Each category comes in a file of its own, and the categories have been adapted to the ones the PC4 and K2700 use.

The files are the same for the PC4 and the K2700: the .PC4 files can be loaded on the K2700 as well, so there is only one download.

Every program keeps its factory ID from the PC3A, so a sound you know from there is quickly found under the same number. The files hold only the objects that are really needed: the programs and a few FX chains. The program list shows each sound with its ID, category, subcategory and info text.

  9. The words Take 6 Vocal Sounds for PC4 beside six overlapping coloured circles, one for each of the six voices.

    Take 6 Vocal Sounds for PC4, K2700 and K2061/2088

The vocal sounds of the famous a cappella group Take 6, from the Take 6 CD-ROM of the Kurzweil Sample Library for the K2000/K2500. The Factory Objects of the newer keyboards already contain Take 6 samples, which some vocal programs use; the complete library with 32 kHz samples is available as a download for the PC3K on the Kurzweil website.

This is a revision of the .P3K files of that PC3K download for the new keyboards: more than 250 samples are joined into 14 FlashPlay samples, and the programs are in the adjusted category Misc. 81 programs, about 18 MB of samples.

The 14 samples are the vowels and syllables of the group: Aah, Baa, Daa, Doo, Oh and Ooh as sustained sounds, Bee, Bop, Doop, Dot, Dow and Shoop as short accents, and the bass voices Doon and Dunn. The programs combine them as ensembles, slow chorales, walking bass voices and percussive accents.

The file is for the PC4 and works on the K2700 and the K2061/2088 as well.

  11. The words Artis EQT German D Pianos for Forte over a black-and-white photo of a hand playing piano keys.

Artis EQT German D Pianos for Forte

The Kurzweil Artis brought samples of a Steinway Model D, the German D, and part of the Forte pianos are built on them. With the PC4, Kurzweil added a second set of keymaps for these samples: the EQT versions, retuned to equal temperament. The PC4 calls the pianos built on them its optimized German 9 ft. pianos.

This file brings the EQT keymaps to the Forte and links every Artis-based piano to them - 34 programs. 20 are German D programs from the PC3A that the Forte does not have. The other 14 are Forte pianos - 8 from the factory set, 6 from the Kurzweil Legacy Pianos sound pack - and are in the file again on purpose: as EQT versions under their own IDs, next to the originals, which stay as they are.

The program list shows each program with its ID and where it comes from.
